Why can't I sign up for AUM ALERT text messaging (SMS)
If you have been alerted that confirmation request have
been sent but you have yet to receive one, here are a
few things for you to check.
- Verify that you
have the correct mobile phone information stored
www.aum.edu/aumalert for text messaging.
- Check with your
mobile phone company to make sure your can receive
and reply to text messages. you may need to enable
text messaging or subscribe to a plan that can
receive and reply to text messages.
I received a text
message from AUM ALERT but it did not ask me to reply.
Instead, it says that I am already confirmed. What
should I do?
Nothing! There are a few mobile phone companies that do
not support or require that you reply. You are
automatically confirmed and will begin receiving text
messages from AUM ALERT. If your mobile phone company
changes its rules at a later date, it may send you a
confirmation message to request you to reply. Please
follow the instructions if that occurs.
I called my mobile phone company and I am now set up to
receive text messages on my mobile phone. What should I

Why didn't I get a confirmation text message?
Please log into
www.aum.edu/aumalert to verify that you have
included your mobile phone information in the correct
field. If the information is correct yet you did not
receive a confirmation text message after a few days,
please check that your mobile phone is text enabled and
try sending a text message with the words "SUBSCRIBE
AU" (without the quotes) to Connect-ED SMS phone
number 23177. You
will receive a follow-up text message indicating the
status of your request.
Opting In and Out
Should you later decide to opt-out, text "STOP AU"
or "QUIT AU" to 23177.
